Weaning 6 month old off dummy

I've seen that people recommend getting rid of the dummy at about 6 months, my baby is 6 months in a few days and I'm just wondering if I should or not?

She only has it for naps and bedtime and isn't a massive issue at the moment, but I don't want her to have speech delays or issues with her teeth when they come in.

How would I go about weaning her from it gently? I would like to prevent as much crying as possible, if i decide to go through with it.

Has anyone found not weaning from dummy until later on caused any issues?

As long as she doesn’t have it in too much it won’t do any harm. My 3 year old has hers to fall asleep at night, no other times. Why upset them just because they’ve reached an arbitrary date is my philosophy.
