Sitting up in cot!

My 11 month old daughter has just learnt how to sit herself up in her cot. She has been really good at going to sleep since she was born and slept through the night at 11 weeks. Last night it took 2 hours to get her to go to sleep as everytime she was laid down in her cot she sat herself up and wanted to play. She then woke up twice in the night each time sitting herself up. Anyone got any helpful ideas or suggestions?! Thanks

Will she play by herself in the cot if you leave a couple of toys in with her? Mine would do this and settle themselves back to sleep when they got tired again.

she does have some soft toys in there but they didn't seem to help! The other problem was she kept hitting her head on the cot bars as she moved around so didn't want to just leave her, thinking of getting a cot bumper to maybe help with that?
