Screaming baby at night!

So bub's 4 months now and she was a great sleeper until aboit 4 nights ago, waking up just once at night and then sleeping straight away and waking up smiling and a happy baby all in all!
With the 4th month sleep regression, we are surprised at the number of changes in her sleep patterns.

Only catnaps twice a day with almoat an hoir of crying. She only sleeps for 40 minutes max
Wanta to be awake all the time and play. She's playful and happy in the day so we try our best to see she doesn't get overtired and try to take her for naps by the clock, in 90 minutes or so, but she only sleeps after screaming her lungs out!

Now night time, she's waking up 5-6 times screaming, it's gas, so we help her pass it but she wants boob if she wakes up, that's the only thing that calms her down, even after she passes gas. I end up overfeeding her i think! But we just want some sleep . Yesterday she was up for 3 hours and finally when we put her to bed, she woke up in 20 minutes.

Her screaming scares us, but, as soon as we put her on the change table or take her outside, or if she sees the slightest of light, she starts smiling! Will a baby get normal all of a sudden if they have bad gas or reflux pain? Anyone else experienced this? So it confuses me whether to give her something for gas or if ahe just wants to play. We have a very dark room and we avoid lights as much as possible. Is this the 4th month regression that's making her scream like this and wanting to stay awake.

Just before she's about to wake up she moves her head side to side and bangs her legs, she's not swaddled anymore as she rolls so it wakes her up instantly. Don't know where my angel baby has gone but hoping for her to return soon! This baby has been sleeping through the nights since she was 3 weeks old (waking up just once) and now it's minimum 4 times.

She's exclusively breastfed as she rejects the bottle that we are trying to give her.

Anyone else in the same space? I feel like I'm juat sleeping 3 - 4 hours lately! 😩

Sounds really difficult! I am wondering whether it actually is gas, it she can so quickly do a 360 if she sees light or gets put in a different situation? I think it might just be one of those sleep regression things.. My DS is 4.5months old and loves to wake up in the night and stay awake. He will be crying and shouting but when I go to his cot he will start grinning up at me! Though I have noticed this is happening less and less, so hopefully he is growing out of it and hopefully your baby will too!!
