Gentle sleep training

My 8 month old is currently waking every 1-2 hours through the night - never been a great sleeper but not this bad! Exclusively breast fed, I try not to feed her every time she wakes if I can help it. Can anyone recommend good sleep solution books that don’t involve too much/any crying? I really don’t like to leave her to cry but need to do something!!

Have a look at the Pick Up Put Down method. My friend had success with this at about the same age as your baby. It seemed very gentle, but still quite effective. Her baby was a terrible sleeper beforehand.

The "gentle" method is very cruel and leads to lots of crying every night for weeks/months. Normal controlled crying (going in to soothe every 5 mins involves around 40 mins of crying for 2-3 nights. Infinitely kinder.
