7 week old bedtime routine?! Help!!

My 7 week old seems to only want to start sleeping during the early hours of the day but just will not go to sleep in the evening.

Typically she will sleep 2-5am, 7-10am and then another 3 hour nap over lunch when she's out in the pram. She will the nap on and off until early evening when she's on full alert

Is she too young to try and get her into a routine to get her to sleep in the evening?? I feel like I'm going mad with the past midnight bedtimes as I've got to get up with a toddler around 7am too.

Any advice much appreciated!!

Too soon. We just sat with ours watching TV. They would feed/doze until we went up to bed. Then we had a couple weeks where they didn’t like being down in amidst lights/Tv but would still just feed/doze until midnight. Then from about 12 weeks they were ready for a proper bedtime. That’s with bf, bottle may be different.
Can you go to bed at 8 and have your partner on shift until midnight then you take over? At least you’d get a wee stretch of sleep.

7 week olds don’t have a routine. Google The 4th trimester and roll with it Flowers

I introduced a "routine" with DS2 of doing a bath and changing into pjs, putting into sleeping bag etc from 7/8 weeks but then I took him downstairs again and he dozed/fed for the evening until I took him up with us to bed. This worked for me as I have an older DS so got all the faffing about done at the same time each evening. Sometimes he would sleep in the Sleepyhead long enough for me to eat dinner but often not!

At about 5ish months I started doing the last feed after the bath upstairs and then putting him to sleep in his cot in our room which worked quite well.

At 7 weeks they're still working out night and day and whilst I think you can start to look for patterns I don't think you'll get far with a routine. As the weeks go by baby will adjust and naturally start to bring their bedtime earlier. It feels like forever at the time but before you know it it's over and you start to get a bit of evening back!

As others have said, too soon. Until 3 months, I'd say just get through it however you can!

That said, at around 9 weeks we introduced a morning time - 7.30am - and that over time helped with routine. I'd wait for a few more weeks before bothering with nighttime routine. We didn't get our evenings back with DD till around 18 weeks
