Nursing with norovirus

As the title says, I have norovirus and I'm continuing to nurse my 6 week old baby. It is so grim, I was beside myself with exhaustion before this illness. DH is great but the little one feeds very regularly and I feel like I'll never sleep again. I'm also super worried she'll catch it from me although she seems fine now. Just feeling so unwell and shattered.

I was breast feeding with D&V bug when my LO was 6 months and my husband was on a trip- you have my absolute sympathies. Your baby is already in close enough proximity to catch anything you get, breast milk is a fabulous defence so keep feeding then if possible pass them to your husband to burp put to sleep etc.

Everything passes OP hang in there

Hang in there. I've done the same. It shall soon pass.

Oh you poor thing. To recover as fast as possible make sure you rest between feeds while dh has the baby and don’t start trying to get up before you are fully ready. I’m sure the baby will be fine.

I had a horrible sickness bug when dd was 5 weeks old.
Cuddled up on the bathroom floor with her nursing inbetween vomiting. She never got it.
Be kind to yourself. Lots of fluids and rest when you can.

Oh OP I’ve been there. The sheer weight of my month old baby resting on my stomach made me cry because I was in such bad pain. And of course you can’t stop feeding, because baby needs the milk as well as the antibodies it contains to prevent catching your bug. I remember sobbing “no no no” as my DH handed me the baby at 2am. You will get better and have a lovely Christmas Flowers
