Advice needed re sleeping products

Hi all,

I’ve been quite lucky with people offering different baby products to help me and DH save money etc and it’s our first child. I was given a Moses basket which is all set up (I’m 37 weeks) and we planned to have that bedside for the recommended time and then move baby to a cot which we’ve set up in our bedroom.

Today my sister has dropped round a ‘Snuzpod’ (never heard of it previously) bedside crib which is very sturdy and she’s provided a ‘sleepyhead’ insert.

This is our first baby and we’re very typical new parents who have no real idea what life will be like post birth and are going with the flow and following advice from health professionals and family. I just wanted to get advice from other mums re which sleeping situation they would choose? Should I keep the Moses basket as that was the original plan or is a snuzpod and sleepyhead the best option for baby to have a good sleep?

Thank you!

A snuzpod is essentially a (very expensive) Moses basket that can also work as a co-sleeper. I’d be tempted to use that and ditch the Moses basket as you might appreciate to co-sleeping option but only if you can source a new mattress for it as it’s not considered safe to reuse them.
Sleepyhead I would advise that you read up on- some people swear by them but they do go against safe sleeping guidelines. I definitely wouldn’t use it if it’s second hand because of the point about needing a new mattress for each baby.

Keep the Moses basket for downstairs so you don't need to lug it around for naps.
