8 month old has stopped sleeping

DS was a great sleeper from about 4/5 months onwards. We had a bedtime routine and he'd be asleep by 7:30 latest and sleeping through for 12 hours.

He's just hit 8 months and it's like all of that has suddenly gone out the window! He won't go down in his cot without crying. I'll put him down when he's sleepy but he wakes up as soon he's down.

He rubs his face and pulls his dummy out numerous times and generally just won't settle.

What could be causing this? I'm at a loss Sad

Theres a big developmental leap at 8 months old, so it's probably that. Just go with it, do what you need to do, and it should sort itself out in a few weeks

How many naps is he having during the day and for how long?
Could he be teething?

It's also a time that separation anxiety really hits. I have no advice unfortunately, DS was bad from 5 months and got slightly worse at 8 months.

Thanks @LuckyKitty13 @BendingSpoons @RaeCJ82 for replying.

He's having 2 naps a day. One mid morning and one in the afternoon. I've noticed a change in him the past week or so, he's been really clingy and difficult

I'm hoping it passes.
