3 month of suddenly screaming every 2 hours

As above, i have a previously decent sleeper (I mean he woke a few times at night but quietly and always went back to sleep straight away after feeding/changing). The last two nights he’s woken from silence to hysterical screaming every 2 hours. Takes about 5 mins to calm him. He doesn’t seem awake but goes from 0-100 within seconds. It’s frightening. He has a mild temperature - could this have contributed? Is it a phase? I’ve not experienced this before and have a 2 year old. Help help!

It could be wind. Does he look like he’s in pain?

My DD started screaming in the night at about 4 months but it was obvious this was just ‘finding her voice’ and not any upset plus it coincided with the 4 month sleep regression.

Potentially wind. He’s suffered with it a lot already but seemed to have turned a corner. He’s v stiff and arches his back when he screams. It’s just the fact it’s come out of nowhere, seemingly.

That does sound like wind with the arching of the back. If you have a look online there are massages you can do to help and reflexology. You can also bicycle the legs to help relieve it.
