My baby is 4 and half months. She mainly falls asleep whilst breastfeeding or with me rocking her. I want to gradually try and get her to self settle.
Hit me with your best tips please! I'm up to trying anything to see how it works as I think its going to be hard!
TIA

It is normal for babies to feed to sleep and need rocking.

I done control crying in own cot at 5 months but a slightly gentler version. Only left her crying for 3 minutes a time to begin with (not hysterical) and always stopped her crying and calmed her before leaving again, if it lasted more than a couple of rounds id pick her up and get her drowsy and go again.

I only ever done this when i was 100% certain that she was tired - if there was a slight chance she wasnt then id bring her back downstairs with me.

Shes now 6 months and self settles 90% of the time with no crying or maybe a small amount of fussing for no more than 5mins.

Not for everyone but it worked for us.

I must add that shes formula fed and had been sleeping in her own room from 4.5 months so her own cot was already known to her.
