Are there any tips for tips for nap times (i.e. when and how long for) or should dd lead the way with this?

My DD eleven weeks sleeps from 9ish till 7 ish at night and usually has about four or five hours throughout the day. she tends to sleep when we're out and about rather than at home. If at home she temds to cat nap on and off all day, no longer than half an hour each time.

Best tip I know comes from "Baby Whisperer" which is to get her into bed by the third yawn. Also if she seems wide awake and it's been a couple of hours, then you may have missed the opportunity and she'll need help to nap.

Problem IMO with letting them lead the way is that left to their own devices all of mine would have slept all morning and been cranky and unable to kip all afternoon (and then bellowed all evening), so I think some structuring from mum is good

aim for a nap around 1 1/2 to 2 hrs after the last one ended. 2 hrs is about the maximum any of mine were able to do at this age.
