10 month old night screaming - Help!

Hi all,

Hoping for some advice from more experienced parents. Our 10 month old DD usually sleeps through from 7:30 to 6am and has for a long time.

Over the last month tho she wakes once or twice a week in the night. She just screams and screams. Nothing we do seems to help. If I try to cuddle her she pushes me away (quite normal for her when she's tired), feeding her doesn't work (she'll take it but carry on crying afterwards except after a couple of hours when she will feed back to sleep), we've tried talking to her through the monitor which works for naptime. If I stroke her chest that works sometimes but then she cries the second I stop. Even leaving her to cry for a bit doesn't help.

Although she is teething we really don't think she's in pain as not doing anything to indicate it - in the past she would bite or chew or touch her cheek or ear when teething.

Looking for any ideas that might calm her. I don't mind doing things that might lead to "habits" as for now I just want to make her happier and can break any habits later on if need be.

I just hear her cry and feel like I just don't know what to do. It's sometimes when she has been woken by a noise and sometimes she wakes of her own accord.

Thank you xxx
