Missing info on sleep training guides

Hi!
I've read so many sleep training methods for night weaning but I can never find the answer to our issue! Can anyone help!?

DD is waking 2 hourly & I can cuddle her to sleep & get her down without a feed maybe once around 12 pm but the other times she is waking up crying & no amount of shushing, dummy, patting consoles her. The non crying methods literally list these as if baby will definitely just go back to sleep!
If I pick up & cuddle to sleep it normally lasts 30 mins before I'm back in there doing the same again.
Obviously the easiest & quickest way for us to all get sleep is to do a quick feed but I head back to work soon & I'm hoping we can wean her & get her to self settle so we are at only 1 or 2 feeds a night not 5!
Am I missing something in all the instructions for methods?!
TIA x

How old is she?
Makes a big difference to what might work best and whether it might be a sleep regression phase

Busyfool · 26/11/2019 06:52

She's now 9 months old but hasn't changed her sleep pattern for quite a few weeks now so don't think we are in any regression phases.

8-10 mo is a classic sleep regression period.

I didn't night wean til 21 mo when DS had more understanding so it could be done without upset. Nothing else worked much before about 18 mo when sometimes a cuddle was an acceptable alternative.

What is husband/partner doing to help or support (if one is around?)

Is she having a growth spurt perhaps?

Busyfool · 28/11/2019 09:55

It's so difficult isn't it! If they aren't teething (DD has no teeth yet but likely they are still moving no doubt), growth spurt, sleep regression, then they've likely got a cold or something! 😝
We are surviving on what we are doing so I guess it's working out ok. My partner feeds formula to DD when she wakes until 1am ish & I do the rest of the night breastfeeding.

Hopefully it's enough to get me through a full day at work one day at a time! 🙈
Thanks for your comments x
