CC help

No judgment, please.

We've tried everything I can think of to try and help get my 10mo DS's sleep to improve, but nothing's worked. And it's just not sustainable for me to keep spending half the night up with him now that I'm back at work. We need to try CC, but have a couple questions I'm hoping someone that's had success can help with...

  • How long do you stay with them when you've gone back in? Until they stop crying? Or just a couple minutes and then leave, even if they're still crying?
  • DS likes to sit/stand up in his cot when he wakes up mid-night. He can sorta get himself back down, but does sometimes seem like he can't. Would you just lay him back down and walk out?

TIA

Don't know if it'll help but I moved my dc into his room shared with older dc at about 1yr old. We went to bed and read a story I say good night and then i just sat next to his cot until he went to sleep and as the weeks went on I moved further out of room. Now After his story I can usually just walk out and maybe have to go back in and lay him back down and tuck him in but I don't talk when I have to re enter.

Sometimes it's bad tho and he just won't settle even in the middle of the night and because he shares I can't let him cry so I end up sleeping on the floor next to his cot and hold his hand.

Hope you all get a better sleep soon 🤞🏻

Just realises that doesn't answer any of your questions sorry I don't know much about CC.
