I need advice, my DS is 8 weeks old Shock but he is outgrowing the Moses basket...
he goes from top to bottom with only a little room left... he looks so scrunched up..

Is it to early to put him into a cot?
which will be in my room..
do I use a sleeping bag or just blanket I’m scared something might happen as he fidgets a lot in the night Confused

My daughter didn’t go in a cot till she was 8 months due to being premature..

Really don’t know what to do please help....

I put my ds in his own room in his cot at 4 weeks. I just put him in a sleeping bag, nothing in the cot &video monitor on baby the whole time. He slept waaaay better then he did in his Moses basket

The cot is completely fine. I prefer sleeping bags as they stay on better. Just make sure he is big enough. The newborn ones are usually from 8lb I think.

Or if you use blankets, just make sure you put his feet at the bottom of the cot and tuck the blankets in firmly. That way if he wriggles it will be out of them, not under them.

Saying that I left mine in moses baskets for ages. They didn't seem to care it was cramped!

ill try each see which makes me feel more comfortable...
I have put rolled up towels at his sides so hopefully he should stay put...

I feel for him in the Moses basket just because of he stretches full length he has no room so his legs are bent up a bit..

I wonder if he will sleep better in the cot with him being able to have little bit more room..

Thank you all Smile

Please take out the rolled towels. They increase the risk of sids

It must be a firm, flat surface

My son has only ever slept in a cot. We have ours with one side off attached to the bed and it’s way easier to use than a next2me etc as it is exactly the same level as our bed and much sturdier. He does 50/50 sleeping in his cot and cosleeping with me

Thank you all...

I took the towels out.. I just used his sleeping bag... we seemed to have a settled night Smile
