My dd1 (almost 5) told me recently that she kept waking in the night and was not able to go back to sleep. I thought nothing of it, although her behaviour over the last few months has been pretty trying with mega-tantrums and moodiness almost daily. I didn't make the connection as her behaviour has always been difficult and she has always been a good sleeper. However, last night she came into my bed and kept me awake tossing and turning - it must have been a couple of hours before she got back to sleep! Not suprisingly, she's got huge bags under her eyes this morning and very grumpy. She has a comforter (a cuddly dog which she's had since birth)- does anyone have any ideas to help her get back to sleep?

What about some music?

My dd(nearly 4) likes to have a cd on. So when she wakes to go to the toilet in the night she just flicks it on and goes back to sleep.
