7 month old sleep problems

Hi everyone, am wondering if any of you have any advice or are in a similar situation.
My 7 month old has always been a poor sleeper but for the last 6 weeks he's been waking a crying out every hour, sometimes twice an hour, all night long! The first month of that he was very ill and cut two teeth (he has four now with two more coming!) so I put it down to that and put up with it. But he's been well for two weeks now and still wakes up that much!!
He has a great nap routine of 40 min nap in morning, 1hr 30 over lunch and 40 mins late afternoon then bedtime 6.30-7.15.
He also self settles for all naps and bedtime with no issues and can put himself back to sleep as he does this during his lunchtime nap.
When he wakes I feed him 1-2 times in the night but usually just pick him up and then almost immediately put him back down and most times he will go back to sleep. But if I leave him he cries and cries and wakes up our three year old (who then won't go back to sleep which is another story!!). I've tried controlled checking and not picking him up but it made no difference, he is still waking that many times and I am also paranoid that any crying will wake his sister again.
He also used to have severe reflux but that seemed to go a month ago so I took him off the meds but am now wondering whether it is this that's still bothering him. I just don't know what to do. I would wait until these next teeth are through but then he'll probably be I'll again and gah! It's so hard Confused Anyone got any insight??

Sigh. His next two teeth have suddenly appeared this afternoon. Which will explain it. (SIX teeth at 7 months!!) I can't work out how to delete this post so this is the update. No one needs to comment as am going to wait until the second one is properly through and then try sleep training again 😵
