16 week old nursing/sleeping constantly

The past few days my 16 week old constantly wants to breastfeed, he falls asleep during every feed and if I let him nap he sleeps for a while then wakes up crying and latches back on, or if I pick him up to wind him he starts crying and will self settle by sucking his thumb. Tried to stop the thumb sucking but he loves it, and won't take a pacifier. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong or do I just need to ride it out? He's not crying for the breast, but just wants to suck either that or his thumb constantly.

He's stopped having his proper daytime naps like he used to, and just has lots of smaller naps after feeds. He's waking 3 times a night to feed aswell.

Growth spurt or something? He's started crying more than usual as well

My DS 15wks has started sucking his thumb the last few wks and I can’t stop him. If I take it out he just puts it back in!
