Anyone had a baby that just doesn't need a lot of sleep?

Long story short - DS 9 months has never been a good sleeper, now wakes about 4 times a night which is tough but main problem is getting him off to sleep at night. It can take hours.... Tonight he is still wide awake and refusing to sleep. I do everything you would expect, bath, dark, quiet, soothing no fun and games.

He's a great day napper, easy to go down regular. Just night is hard work. He regularly sleeps 8-10 hours a night.

Do some babies just need less sleep? DH doesn't sleep a lot, he does maybe 5 hours a night, could it be genetic?

No too sure about it being genetic?
Dd never was a long sleeper just very active and has to be on the go all day.DS however loves his sleep and Is very laid back think it just depends on the child and how active they can be.i wouldn't worry though as they can change x
