Bedtime and nap time advice

Hi Everyone

Im hoping for a little advice my little girl is 10 months old being a first time mum I'm pretty much winging it 😂

We're struggling quite a bit with bed time we normally do bed time around 7.30-8pm. But as soon as put my LG in her cot after her milk she immediately starts to get very upset and it can take anything up to an hour and half to get her to sleep.

I'm not too sure if her naps are the reason why she normally wakes up about 07:15am and naps from about 10am till 11:30am (sometimes less) and has a second nap at about 3pm till 4.30pm (can sometimes be longer).

Would you suggest waking LG earlier from naps? Also she refuses to nap in her cot the only way I can seem to get her to sleep is to push her up and down in her buggy.

Any advice or tips would be very much appreciate ❤️

My DD used to only nap in her pram. It was only when she got bigger and less comfortable in it (around 12 months) that she pointed to go in the cot instead and has napped in it ever since. I did have the pram in the bedroom though to help with transition.

Re bedtime, they're all different but DD is 19 months now and she goes to bed between 6:30-7 so she doesn't get over tired. Maybe you could try dropping the morning nap and do one long one (dds is 1-3) and put her to bed a bit earlier if that's possible? As I said what worked for us may not for you but it could be worth a try! Good luck! I hope you get your evenings back soon!

Thank you so much for your reply, I think I will pop the pram upstairs as well so that hopefully when's she's a little older she will transition easier into the cot.

I think I deffently might try condensing the nap into one long nap and then change bed time to 7pm, I'm thinking the problem is as well because she naps till quite late in the day she not tired when we're putting her to bed and then she gets worked up because of it

Thank you so much for your advice ❤️

No problem 😊 she'll probably fight you a bit to start with but its worth persisting. Also I'm of the opinion that they can be left to kick off a bit within reason but totally understand if thats not for you.

I think I'm willing to try anything It took till 10:30 tonight to get her asleep Shock!

The problem I have as well she is going through a clingy stage with me at the moment so as soon as I leave the room nursery all hell breaks loose 😂
