Moving out of cot

Just wondering at what age did any of you move your little ones out of their cots? My son is 2 next month. Sleeps 7-7 pretty much. Has comforter etc and normally self settles if he wakens. No sign of climbing etc. I'm reluctant to change things when they are going well sleep wise. Just wondering what the norm is.

Following this because I'm in the same position. DD has just turned 2 and is the exact same as you've described. Most people I know with children the same age have transitioned in to beds though and I'm starting to feel like we should be doing the same.

We've been blessed with a good sleeper generally and know we're lucky. Even now if he had a rare off night with teeth etc he doesn't want cuddles or into my bed etc. Loves his own space and therefore his cot. I'll maybe not worry too much till after Christmas and re think things then.

Don’t rock the boat. When you have a reason to move (eg climbing, potty training) crack on, but it’s doing no harm him being in there now, especially if he sleeps well. We finally transferred DD out at about 2 and 3/4 years, just before we potty trained. All went relatively smoothly. Also helps that their understanding is better when they’re a little older and are easier to bribe to stay in bed...!

Mine is nearly two and I plan on keeping him in his cot until about 18😂. For reasons I can't really explain, his grandparents have him in a bed at their house and he doesn't understand the concept of staying in yet, so he's up all the time! At home in the cot he's 12hrs consistently. I wouldn't rock the boat until closer to 3 years.
