Stopping the dummy to prevent night wakings

Dd is 10 month old and when she loses her dummy in the night she wakes up frantically crying and crawling around the cot looking for it. I've put 3 dummys in but she gets really worked up as shes searching for them. My partner thinks we should go cold turkey with the dummy (she only uses one to sleep)
Whats other people's experiences with this? Did all hell break loose? She's already waking up frequently due to losing the dummy anyway. I just feel mean stopping something that comforts her so much but it's also causing disturbed sleep for her.

Could a few glow in the dark ones in the cot work? I know Mam do them

We just upped the dummies tbh! Ds 17mths had a record 9 in his cot.last night. Didnt have to go in once.

I'd give them up now, it's got to be easier than when they're 3! My dd just used her thumbWink
