One year old wakes crying

Hi all

My LO wakes every morning screaming and will not stop screaming until he is fed. He has always been a very “demanding” baby. He cries a lot and when he feels any form of discomfort -Eg slightly hungry or a little tired - it’s like the world is ending. But the crying every morning gets me down. This morning he woke at 6am and did not stop screaming until I gave him breakfast. I give him breakfast straight away but he has awful nappy rash at the moment so I needed to change his nappy and make the breakfast so he was screaming all morning until breakfast came....anyone else going through this? If I give him some milk it does stop the meltdown but no matter how little milk I give him he won’t then eat his breakfast - even if I wait an hour or 2. Weaning has been an awful process for us so the HV said we must give solids first over milk. I just hate starting the day with so much screaming....really gets me down.....

I would probably get him up, remove his nappy right away, a quick freshen up and then leave him nappy free and give him something to eat that you can just grab, something like a brioche with a few berries. That shouldn’t take more than five minutes!
