New cot - headbutting

Hey all, so my LO is nearly 11 months. We have just moved into our forever home from a 1 bed flat. In the flat she was sleeping in a travel cot due to not having enough room (we moved ourself to living room for her to have her own space). She's now in a proper cot bed.

Only been in here a week and sleeping not as great but ok, but she has much more space to roll. Thought it would be beneficial but seems she got used to rolling to the edges of her soft travel cot, and as a result is rolling into wood and headbutting it each night 🙈 and waking up crying.

I totally understand the dangers of cot bumpers and am far too scared to use them but is there anything safe out there to soften the sides of the cot? She may just get used to her sleeping surroundings and not bash about but I just feel sorry for her/

Thanks

We went through exactly the same thing at 10 months when we made the swap. He’s now 12 months and is a very acrobatic sleeper so still bangs his head. It doesn’t wake him up anymore though so I guess it can’t hurt that much!

My DS did this when we moved him into his cot. Sounded worse than it actually was i think. He still does it occasionally but it doesn't wake him and he doesn't sustain any damage from it. They get used to the space eventually

Nothing is really safe but even the breathable cot bumper things.
