My 3 week old baby sleeps and feeds for most of the day, but really comes alive from about 11pm onwards and it can be a struggle to get her to sleep until the early hours (usually 2am) - she's alert/wants to feed/has wind. Then she wakes every 2 hours for a feed and takes about 30-60 mins to go back down again.

Please post anything that may keep me occupied over the next few hours! Funny stories, advice etc all welcome! Doesn't need to be baby relayed.. just anything to save my sanity!

My youngest used to be awake from 11-2 every night when he was this age. Set yourself up with a good Netflix drama and some biscuits. I actually got to the point where I quite enjoyed those hours.

Although he’s 2 now and a brilliant sleeper so I’m going to sleep and can’t keep you occupied sorry. Your day will come though ❤️ Sending strength for the long night!

@Sunshine1235 thank you! That gives me some hope :)

I'm glad you like the photos unfortunately had to have my poor dog put down last year he was18 years old and suffering from arthritis. But I love this photo of him apparently wanting to drink my pint

SamBeckett · 02/10/2019 00:54

And I wholeheartedly agree with you pets are better than many many people I know

You can hear my travelling tale of woe if you like?

sleepwhatisthat · 02/10/2019 04:08

@TheNemesisOfLame yes please, if it's not too traumatic for you to tell?! (She fell asleep at 1am in the end!) but now back up again! Appreciate you may be asleep, so happy to wait until morning for your tale!

Girls weekend away in Spain...
Lost passport which meant I had to travel to a different city 200 miles away to get expensive replacement travel docs which wouldn't have been ready til after my return flight home.
Sent friends home on Monday. I travelled by train and taxi to stay overnight in city- which was having a major conference and all hotel rooms were double the normal price.
Got docs from embassy and went very early to the airport. Waited for 6 hours...relied on the boarding gate showing on my flight app and waited and waited. Finally thought I should have heard something - apart from the flight to Mexico leaving from the next gate.

When I found a departure screen...flight not on it...it had departed from another gate entirely along with my hand luggage I'd checked in.

Had massive meltdown at airport information who just told me to book another flight and leave the departure lounge which I did. Ive spent another 5 hours in the arrivals hall..and only realised at 4am I could have gone straight back to departures instead

So I am boarding right now...and then I've got to hunt down my luggage which a very nice luggage handler told me had already gone on to Gatwick.

And then get to London by 3pm today to get a very expensive replacement fast track passport as I need it for next week.

I've never cocked anything up so comprehensively...Shock

@TheNemesisOfLame
Jesus Christ... you poor poor thing! What an absolute nightmare. I would've also had a meltdown just like you did when you realised that flight had left with your hand luggage.
Although this is absolutely horrendous, you will now forever have a terrible travel story that trumps all others!! Where are you now?

@sleepwhatisthat thanks , he did have a good life , up until him been about 15 years old he still had mad dash puppy like moments.
I had to take him to a different vets once when I was on holiday with him, ( he cut his paw badly ) the vet asked the normal questions one of them been his age , I told the vet he was 14 years old , the vet was absolutely adamant that I was wrong so much so I gave him my own vets number for him to check it , he came back after a few minuets and apologised and praised me for looking after The Hound so well and treated him for free . I walked out of there on cloud nine.
