Later than 6am?!

I have 2 DSs ages 6 and 3. DS2 only just started sleeping through the night January of this year aged 3, I feel that we are now at a good place with a good bedtime routine.

DS1 has always been an early riser but since I was always up with DS2 it never mattered.

Now they're both in bed and sleeping for 8:30 most nights. I have no issues with keeping them up later if there's something on (party/ visitors) or we're having a nice night or earlier if they're tired after a busy day.

Both of them regardless of bedtime wake up 5:45am....every single morning, the wriggling in bed and tossing and turning starts about 5:15, toilet runs start about 5:30 and by 5:45 they're both wide awake. I know I'm incredibly lucky that they're both now at a stage where they sleep through the night but just once I'd like to not see a 5 at the start of the time. Does anyone have any tips for trying to get them to sleep longer or are there other mums that are downstairs with the blanket every morning for 6am?
