My 9 month DD used to sleep quite well and was really good at self settling for both naps and night sleep. She would nap for 2-3 hours over 2 naps and then sleep about 11 to 12 hours at night. She mostly slept right through but would sometimes be up once or twice but would be settled quite easily.
Things have been getting gradually worse over the past couple of months to the point she can now no longer self settle at all... If you put her in her cot awake she wriggles about and chatters away for an hour or more but as soon as you pick her up she will fall asleep on you. If you rock her to sleep and try to put her down, she wakes and cries to be held again.
She won't nap for more than 30 minutes at a time anymore and is usually only getting about an an hour of sleep through the day. At night she now takes over an hour to settle and then is up every night at least once or twice for an hour at a time. She then wakes between half 4 and half 5 wide awake ready to start the day.
We are all exhausted and at a loss of how to fix things. We have tried adjusting bedtimes and wake times but nothing seems to make any difference. I am now back at work too so really struggling with the lack of sleep.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
