Recurring 3 year old nightmares

My 3 year old is having some horrific nightmares that keep happening. What kind of nightmares are concerning? She just told me tonight she had a dream of a bad man who caught her and put her in something sharp that cut her body off. He then cut her eyelids and her eyes out. This seems uncommon and not super right for a 3 year old... any advice?

No real advice but bumping for you. That does sound very specific and I'd be very disturbed if my 3yo came out with that! Mine has recently started getting nightmares - mainly around the dark and the 'big bad wolf' and sometime if the radiator makes noise overnight which she says are frogs in the walls!

It started off with this fear of clowns which we seemed to work through, up until these last few weeks. She is scared, saying that daddy and I aren't protecting her and that we are wanting to hurt her like everyone else, and her fear of clowns is back. She said the other day that daddy and I turned into monsters and didn't turn back into real people until we had already caught her and started eating her alive. She's in therapy (she's my adopted daughter but biologically my niece) because of her history but I'm scared for her

Eldest grandson use to have nightmares, we bought him a dream catcher and explained it would try and catch the bad dreams, he was a similar age and it did help him for a while. It sounds like you are doing what you can, hugs to you all
