Hello all. This is going to sound really silly but I have a 4 month old baby who seems to sleep all day long and all night as well. I suffer with anxiety so very aware of the amount that she sleeping and it's causing me some worry I just wondered if anybody else has has or had a baby that seems to sleep all day. When she is awake she is perfectly happy she's taking a bottle she's doing everything she should be it's just the amount of sleep that's making me worry. I'd be grateful for any feedback of similar situations. She's starting to teeth which may be part of it. Thank you

DC2 was a sleeper, so much so they were really grumpy if they did not have all that quiet time. If your baby is happy when awake, feeding and gaining weight then you are doing a great job.

Thank you!! That makes me feel better. Should enjoy the peace and quiet I suppose xx

@Tracey331905
My little one is the same.
From 6 weeks she would do 6 hours plus day time naps which would go: awake at 4am, bottle, sleep from 5:30-8:30, bottle, sleep till lunch and bottle. Afternoons is when she would wake a bit. But by half 6 shes done for the day.

From 7 weeks she would do between 7/8pm-6/7am.. her record was 8pm till 11am the next day. My mum said to let her sleep through one feed (7am) but never a second. In the end she woke herself up for her lunch feed.

I was really worried.. can they sleep.. too much?! (Shes 3.5months now) but HV came out and confirmed weight gain is spot on. I read her feeds should be 5oz 6-8 times a day? But she does 7oz 4 times a day. HV isn't concerned.

My mum did say.. babies are just like us.
Sometimes they want lie ins. Sometimes they want to skip a meal etc. :)

(Oh and forgot to mention.. now she does.. 8-8 and will still have a couple of hour long naps and a 2hour nap in the afternoon or so)

Genuinely just think some kids are great sleepers. My toddler sleeps 12h at night and naps for 3+ hours in the day (I have to wake him most days!) and my 2 month old is constantly asleep.

I'm so glad its not just me. Sounds like babies just enjoy their sleep. I've spoken to so many doctors etc about it and they have all said as long as they are alert when awake and feeding well with adequate weight gain the let them be and enjoy the quiet. My d.d has 6 oz 5x daily shes never been a great feeder due to reflux but it gaining weight really well. She is 4 months so I'm sure there are plenty of changes ahead now..xx

So 30oz. My DD is on 28oz a day.. I guess they're all so different :( I'm glad this is anonymous but I genuinely lost a friend/became distant because of how much mine slept!
My HV said the same.. shes so alert, smiling, first tooth already!
Also said the environment can have an impact. I.e.very relaxed and chilled parenting can relax the baby too.

That makes sense it's so quiet here she must just love her sleep like I used too haha. The amount she drinks changes so sometimes its 30 sometime its 26. But the main thing is they are gaining and alert. They just like to keep us on our toes I think. I'm sorry to hear you have lost friends. I totally get it. Sometime the worry just consumes you and there is no way through it and it certainly puts strains on relationships. Us mums are mums tough though....we can do it and get through it xxx
