Hello everyone,
I am looking for any advice, tips and experiences for transitioning your 18 month olds from cot to cot bed?
My little one has mastered the climbing out of the cot, and it's to dangerous for us to keep him in his cot so we have had to take the front part of his cot and replace it with a bed guard and I have also brought memory foam side tubes so he feels secure.
He was so good and going to sleep with his bottle at night and sleeping through all night (12 hours) and now our house has been turned into a no sleeping zone lol
He hasn't taken to it at all! It takes 1 hour to get him to go to sleep and when he falls asleep he will wake up an hour later and won't settle as we are not in the room, he will get out of bed and cry at the gate at his door.
It's like he has forgotten how to self soothe himself as I guess he is still getting use to the change bless him.
If anyone could give me any advice or tips on what they did to help my little one get used to the big change.
It may be he isn't ready for it and it's to soon but I can't have him in a cot as it's to dangerous if he is going to climb out
