7 month old standing up in cot

Hi there

I have a very determined little boy, whose been standing since he was 6 months old. Unfortunately, as wonderful as this is, it’s also incredibly worrisome as his balance is still very wobbly and with him standing up in his cot (which seems to have become an obsession!) he continuously falls and bumps his head! I don’t believe in cot bumpers due to the health and safety scare, but is there anything I can do to prevent this? As soon as he’s awake, I end up having to put him into bed with me to stop him from standing and falling- but I know this will cause another issue further down the line.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

My DD only started standing up in her cot at 8 months and at first we had the same issue (except she never sleeps in her cot... has only ever been a play pen) . However I didn't have time to find a solution before she quickly became stable and I no longer worry. Hopefully your DS will stabilise quickly, especially if he's obsessed with practising!

@xtinak thank you so much for replying x I’m just concerned he’s going to really hurt himself x he falls and bashes his head at least 3 times a day, with all being in the cot where I’m not able to be by his side to protect him. Fingers crossed he’ll become as stable as your little one quite quickly xx

He’ll cotton on soon enough that he needs to sit down rather than fall down 😄 my DSs were both like this too - prepare for walking in a couple of months time! Godspeed!
