We have been very lucky with our dd. She started sleeping through from 7pm-7.30am from about 6-8 weeks old but just this last couple of weeks she has been so hard to settle for a nap and at bedtime. I end up having to go up and down about 5 times before she settles to sleep and then she rolls and wakes up at around 3am etc and I have to go and settle her again. I don't really know why she's doing it and what I can do to stop it. It's a massive shock to our systems lol I feel knackered.

8-10 mo sleep regression. Very normal as there's a lot going on developmentally.

Yes it's a shock when you've been so lucky so far (to be honest your new nights sound like our better ones for most of the first year) but it will pass as development phases change. You can't stop it, she's not doing it on purpose but her brain is so busy growing and changing, she can't help it.

And yes, child sleep does get worse as well as better.
