Co sleeping

Hi my daughter is 6 weeks old, she usually settles about 8:30-9pm and wakes up about 3 times for feeding at approx 1 am, 3 am and 5 am. She's breastfed and I bring her into the bed to feed her lying down. I can usually settle her back in the Moses basket after the 1 am wake but for the others as often as not she won't resettle unless I keep her in the bed with me. I'm feeling guilty because of risks of co-sleeping and worried she will only end up sleeping in the bed! She isn't great at napping in the Moses basket either, naps tend to be in sling/pram/car seat/bouncer.

Am thinking of getting a co-sleeping side car crib but they are v expensive for something she will only be in a few months. Wondering if others have used them are they worth the money, do babies resettle in them as quickly as in a bed? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

There are guidelines online about how to cosleep as safely as possible if you decide that's your best option.
I was similar to you and just felt too guilty/nervous so we used a snuzpod next to the bed which worked really well, baby was close enough that I could stroke them or have my hand on them as a comfort if needed without them actually being in bed with me. You can normally get some second hand on facebook marketplace etc so all you'd have to buy new would be the mattress and sheets.

We used a next2me it lasted until DS2 was 7 months? Would have prob lasted a bit longer but sil was due her baby then so I decided to give her it and move DS2 into his work room.

We'll be using again for baby due November. They're worth the money I think

My Snuzpod currently holds my water bottle, phone (apart from using it to write this), flapjacks, dinner plate, lip balm... DD is in bed with me. It's fine, it's safe, it won't last forever. A few weeks ago she was in the pod. In a few weeks something else will be different.

Thanks all, will have a think on it! Would spend the money on a co sleeper in a heartbeat if I thought it would mean better & safer sleep but just not sure if it will work that well or if she'll just end up in the bed anyway...

You can get second hand ones for a reasonable price
