Moving from 3 to 2 naps

Looking for some advice as my 7.5mo LB is struggling with the 3 > 2 nap transition.

He's fighting his 3rd nap so much that it ends up late and pushing bedtime back consistently. But if he skips it and I put him to bed early he thinks that's his nap and wakes up 1.5hrs later and then is up every 2hrs the rest of the night.

Any suggestions of how to get the balance right?? TIA

What time are his first two naps and how long?

@MellowBird85
Naps are at 9am & 12:30/1. They always end up equalling out to 3hrs, but the split varies (ie 1hr/2hrs or 1.5hr/1.5hr)

You’ve probably already tried this already but could you possibly stretch him out a bit between his morning and afternoon nap? I see your dilemma because at this age, maximum awake time is around 2.5 hours. And maybe take him out in the garden to refresh him if he’s getting sleepy? This transition is tricky unfortunately but he will get there Smile
