Baby sleeping on side

DD has just turned 6 months so she’s now sleeping in her cot in her own room

I don’t think she’s used to the space so last night was a nightmare getting her to sleep

She’s fallen asleep quickly tonight but she’s rolled from her back to her side. Am I ok to keep her like this? I can’t do with another night like last night!

I think that's fine as she has rolled herself. I think advice is put them down on their back but if they choose to go to side or front it's ok? Try not to be too worried and take the opportunity to rest xxx

Thanks!

I always but her on her back to sleep and when we do tummy time or when she tries to crawl she’ll move from her front to her back so I know she’s capable of rolling.

She has got a snuza hero on as well just worrying! I’m staying in her room while we make the transition

My youngest is 18 months old now and sleeps on her side. I think every parent will relate to how you are feeling though and I remember worrying about the exact same thing as she always rolled to her side. It all feels quite daunting when they move into the cot but try not to worry. As long as she is not too warm and is safe and you've followed all the guidelines you've done all you can. Let her have a good rest and get some sleep too xxx

Once they turn themselves, leave them to it. Remove any swaddles, cot bumpers, teddies etc.
