12 month sleep regression?

My DS turns 1 next week. He's been a reasonable sleeper and sleeps in his cot in his own room at night, with maybe 1 or 2 wake ups. A few weeks ago we started using the stay and support method of sleep training which has been great. However he has recently started waking multiple times in the night - this last night it was every 2 hours. It feels like its getting worse.

He has been teething his molars very recently, and the weather is warm but i feel like his is approprtiately dressed.

Is there a 12 month sleep regression? Do i just need to ride it out? Ive been feeding him back to sleep from the night wakings which i know the Lucy Wolfe book says not to do but when its 3am i just want an easy route back to bed!
