Night time gas preventing sleep

I have a five week old who refuses to nap during the day unless in the sling so nighttime sleep really important. He has some minor gas and a bit of reflux during the day but it’s not too bad. At night the gas is so bad he won’t go down after a night feed and strains and grunts if put down as though experiencing some bad discomfort. He sleeps fine on one of us.

What can I do to help him and get some sleep!? We already wind him and keep him upright for 20 mins after every feed. We’ve tried infacol but I think it makes him sick. Any thoughts? Thanks!

My 12 week old is the same as this. He's much better at daytime naps now (wasn't always). But at night, from around 2am onwards, just loads of wriggling, unsettled, lots of noises. Despite lots of attempted winding. He farts a lot too (haha). I tried giving him Infacol before night time feed but it didn't make a difference.
Also gets reflux, so I often have him sleep on side or front (in a cool room, with a fan blowing).
I'm assuming he will grow out of it, and just trying to get through this phase for now.

You could get a reflux cot that raises up on one side. That really helps!

I’d be tempted to find out what’s causing the wind. Do any of his symptoms sound like these ones?
