Dropping a Nap?

Arrrghhhhh!! 😄

Ive just hit a baffling point with my little girl's sleeping habits, or more so her naps. She's 13 months.

I'm having a hard time differentiating whether she's going through a sleep regression or she simply wants to drop a nap as I've read most signs are pretty similar in both situations?

Lately she's been rising a bit later 7.30/8am but is fighting sleep when I try to put her down in her cot, 3 hours later.

These past few weeks due to family visiting, holiday etc (because we've been out and about) we've had to put her down later, closer to midday. Has she just fallen into a habit so to speak? I've tried to put her back to her two-nap routine.

Yesterday for example (thinking she might've dropped her nap) I put her down at noon, no joy. Proceeded to put her down at 2pm and she only slept for 45 minutes. The only saving grace is that she usually sleeps all night when we put her down around 7pm.

Sunday, we were out in the car and she fell asleep around 12.15, woke at 1.30pm! (Again failed to have her morning nap). Last Friday she wouldn't sleep till 1ish and was out for practically 2 hours....

Seems like she's all over the place - am I missing something here?

Sounds like dropping the morming nap to me. Try a lumch time nap around 11.30 or 12noon and see if she'll do a longer nap.
My little boy dropped his at 11 months so it is possible. It was actually so much easier without a morning nap.x

@PleasetellmeIWillsurvive thanks. And yes I've noticed this week, so far, she's been edging towards noon. Sleeping for nearly two hours...

I'm finding the transition hard - have found some great playgroups in the afternoon which will prove difficult to get to now (unless I deprive her of sleep 😄)

@Jenu294 ah that's gutting having to miss playgroups! It's the only way we survive, but all of ours are in the morning!
