Moving my 2 year old from cot to bed!

He isn't a good sleeper and never really has been. I know it's time for him to move out of his cot... he's a pretty big 2.5 year old and he LOVES getting cosy in adult beds so I just feel it's the right time. Also we're going to butlins in a few weeks and he's far too big for the travel cot so need to nip it in the bud now!! I'm dreading it though!!! Any tips? Any miracle stories about this transition improving sleep in general? I think it's separation anxiety that spoils his sleep! He hates it when I leave the room :(

I never found it was actually as bad as I was dreading (and all were under 2.5 years.)

I chose duvet covers I knew they’d love, bigged up the Big Boy/Girl bed ‘babied’ the cot (Blush I have no shame! but left it up in the room as a —threat— reminder of where they’d go if they messed around

Oh and we put one of those mesh sides on the bed (only partly so they didn’t fall out, more so it made it more difficult to climb out !)

One I ‘Apple pie’d’ the sheets so it felt cosier and again made getting out more difficult

2-3 nights each (of the novelty of getting in & out) and no bother after that

Best of luck!
