I've never shouted at anyone in my life except my own daughter :(

I feel like such a monster. I'm usually a calm quiet person but sometimes I feel like becoming a parent has made me so horrible and mean. I just snapped and yelled at DD (13m) to "SHUT UP" Sad

I just get so sick of these struggles sometimes. It's so flipping hard.

It’s so hard being a mum. It’s great you have recognised that ‘snapping’ is not helpful. What are you finding difficult? Why did you behave out of character? Kids are resilient, give her a cuddle and spend some quality time with her. Don’t be hard on yourself

Motherhood is hard work! Don’t be too hard on yourself - learn what makes you snap at her - is it her specific behaviour, or more a situation/circumstance? And try to preempt it in future.

For me, i remember feeling frustrated when trying to do do many things at once (like trying to prep dinner, doing the washing and calming DS). I really felt like it was impossible, but I was trying too hard!

The best solution in the long run was to just do far less, cuddle more, and to occasionally just put DS somewhere safe, have a sip of tea and a biscuit on my own!

They are only little for a short time (although it feels like forever!) and it will pass!
