Hi Everyone,
Wondering if any one has any personal tips or recommendations for sleep consultants on how to alter an early rising toddler!!
LO is 22 months. Always to be fair been an early riser. I am VERY lucky in the fact that usually when she goes to sleep she has a good solid sleep until 5am. However, being awake so early means an early nap (will make it to 11am if lucky) for around 1.5-2 hours. This then means an early bed time at around 6-6:30. So yes I know around 11 hours is unbelievable and I should and do feel lucky for the undisturbed nights BUT she's waking tired, grouchy, crying, rubbing eyes. I know she's not for-filled and happy to start the day but will just not settle back down. Her room is black out so no chance of light disturbing her. She has a dummy which she has learnt if she chucks over the side of cot we will have to go in and give back, which when seeing us stimulates her even more. Not giving her the dummy back will be a never ending crying fit. Do I think about going cold turkey with dummy to take that out of the equation??
A constant over tired toddler and pregnant mummy is not so much fun right now!
What I think we need to try to do is alter her day and try and push everything along an hour and break this viscous cycle but just unsure as everything we've tried so far has failed, trying earlier or later naps and bedtimes doesn't seem to change this stubborn overtired early riser!
If anyone has been in same boat and has cracked it, any advise would be AMAZING! Thank you so much! X
