Can't believe we're onto another new thread already!

Hi everyone.

EP at your night. Hope work is not too demanding for you today.

Meg and Ginger for your poor, poor, DCs. I know how lucky we are not to have any allergies. Really hope things improve with the slightly cooler weather.

Ginger - I am back to work in sept/oct (not sure how much annual leave I have). Am similarly wobbly.

Amber - I'm guessing you could have really done without that 1am sicky. Is DS ok today?

CCM - grr for those mozzies.

Tam - glad someone had a good night! You deserve it.

to say so, but we had a corker. DD slept 8pm-2.45 am - a new personal best! Fed at 2.45, up with DH til 3.30, then slept til 6.30 .

Yesterday she didn't nap at all after 2.30pm. Not sure if this is the reason for good sleep. Probably not - everything else with DD seems entirely random. We'll see today.

ImBarryScott · 06/08/2007 11:28

Tibs - everything ok? I do hope so.

MegBusset · 06/08/2007 12:35

Yay Bags! sounds like a great night. Is she sleeping with the dummy all night? I'm just asking 'cause DS is going most of the night without his but I'm not sure if he might settle better with it in.

MegBusset · 06/08/2007 12:36

Sorry I mean ImBarryScott... not used to new name yet

MegBusset · 06/08/2007 12:37

Ginger deffo email me about the humidifier please! Would try anything to help. Also LOLed at 'humfing round the cot', we get a lot of that!

Amberjee · 06/08/2007 12:57

for your good night IBS-Bags.

Gah, i've got so much housework to do.

ImBarryScott · 06/08/2007 13:06

Well, lunchtime nap's gone t*ts up due to slightly comic incident.

DD had been asleep for 30mins and started grumbling. Went into to resettle - she looked pretty sleepy so I thought she'd go back for another hour or so. Bloody cat followed me in (DD's room is a suntrap and cat is very at no longer getting free access) and proceeded to hare around the room, while I tried, and failed, to catch her. DD thought all this quite hilarious and is now wide awake, and a bit grumpy as she's tired. Ho-hum.

Amberjee · 06/08/2007 13:08

you're right - slightly comical! but annoying none the less.

ImBarryScott · 06/08/2007 13:08

Meg - DD is still hooked on the dummy, much to my consternation. She's really weird with it though. Sometimes it falls out and she keeps clamouring for it. Other times I've seen her spit it out (this is really funny - she pulls a very strange face and the dummy is blasted into outer space) roll over, and go back to sleep. They love to keep us on our toes!

ImBarryScott · 06/08/2007 13:13

Amber - stuff the housework - coffee in the garden sounds better

Amberjee · 06/08/2007 13:22

oh yeah, i'm only going to do it until LO wakes up, then we'll go out in the sun (and coffee too!!) But am just trying to race around - am onto third load of washing

Amberjee · 06/08/2007 13:23

gotta think of something to have for dinner too... sigh.

gingerninja · 06/08/2007 14:07

I love Dr Sears. You know if you're having a SDD it helps to just take a peak at his website. Cheers me up no end.

Amberjee · 06/08/2007 14:17

sorry you've been having a SDD ginger, and glad dr sears could pick you up.

it's funny because i had to stop reading sears for a bit because he made me feel bad for not being the perfect attachment parent all the time and for not co-sleeping and for getting annoyed sometimes for having to get up in the night.

anyway, i fundamentally agree with him, but dunno, sometimes find it all too full on.

LO still sleeping but feel like i'm coming down with a cold

gingerninja · 06/08/2007 14:39

Totally Amber, I would never have called myself an AP and it has got that honey sweet Americanness about it but it's just refreshing to hear people, especially fellas, say nurture and use your instinct rather than fight it. Not really having a SDD just the blues about going back to work. Wish I could help DD with her eczema and also wishing I hadn't wasted my whole maternity leave arsing about on the computer. Still I've made some friends through it so shouldn't complain. Hope everyone's well. Where is Tibsy, I misssssss you

Amberjee · 06/08/2007 17:13

must be tough having to go back to work soon.

yes, where is little ms. tibs???

tibsy · 06/08/2007 21:07

ahhh guys
hello my lovelies, wish i could say i've been off living the sleeptastic lifestyle of other mummies, but.....alas, no
had a full on weekend as dp away, again, bah humbug.
i have read the posts, but very quickly i'm afraid as dd is really restless tonight as has woken twice
love the name change bags
amber, yey for your night out
ginger - for your apprehension about leaving dd. you've given her lots and lots of love and affection tho in her first 11 months to feel secure, i'm sure xx
tam, your night sounds absolutely lovely very new age we're going camping in a week or so, am envisaging us inviting all t'other campers around to crack open a bottle or two of vino and sing kumbaya
welcome gegs and hi to all you other siftw ers
cupcake, am still loving your posts

dont know whats happened, but dd seems to have got into a habit of waking 2 times a night now and for the last couple of days has got seriously clingy again and cries everytime i leave the blardy room i know she cant help it, but shes a real clingon atm. i even had to have her paddling around the bath this a.m as i took a shower
hope it comes right soon, am trying to decide whether i can be motivated to try something again, GR or the like?????

ah well, better go, fight for life is on tv. speak tomorrow. wishing you all good sleepy nights xxxx

XcupcakemummyX · 06/08/2007 21:13

defenses our up against the mossies, put ds back in pull ups just for night time.
dd is on a choc hunt and it is eerily quiet

MegBusset · 06/08/2007 21:41

Evening ladies. I will maybe try GW when we move house so Tibs we can compare notes! However, I am going to give up if it causes much in the way of crying as it's hard enough for DS with his eczema.

We are signing contracts tomorrow so hopefully will be on the move soon!

Tibs there you are. My LO sometimes gets momentarily glum when I leave the room, but he's so fickle, two seconds later he's forgotten about it and is busy with whatever new person or toy is around!

Tamdin · 07/08/2007 08:31

morning all.
another good (ish) night for us. ds went to bed at 7.30 woke at 12 (in with us and bottle) and then woke at 7.30 for the day

He was in such a deep sleep his mouth was hanging open and he was stretched out like a star fish. hence i have a very sore/stiff neck this morning from sleeping in a strange position.
Am always very tempted to move him back into his cot when he's asleep like that but then part of me thinks no don't incase he wakes and we're back to square one!

I'm too lazy that's my problem. always go for the easy option!

This morning not been good though. I have bad PMT (never used to be like this pre baby) and ds slapped me across the face this morning and i shouted at him which i never do feel awful now as he dropped his lip but then being a brave boy tried to suck it up and not cry. He's only 18m and i forget that sometimes especially when i have no patience left.

Let's hope the day improves

OP posts:
MegBusset · 07/08/2007 09:05

Morning Tam. for good night but for PMT. I am not looking forward to the return of periods, I'm a right miseryguts for a day or two. Hope you feel better soon.

Not an awful night for us though not great either. Bed at 7.30, couple of shushings then fed at 10, then slept til 1.30, then in with me and slept til 4ish, but hard to settle after that and lots of dozing on and off til 7. But a couple of OK stretches in there somewhere.

Amberjee · 07/08/2007 09:23

sometimes i want to continue night feeding to delay the onset of periods
LO is weird. last night he woke at 12.30 (first waking), refused a feed so we just had a cuddle then when i lay him back in the cot, he just closed his eyes and went to sleep. cute! must have just wanted a cuddle.
we had a good night anyway, after that he woke at 5 for a feed, then back until 7.
both dh and i have a bit of a cold though
tam - sounds like a very good night, well done.
hi meg.
tibs, i've got some other friends whose babies have become ultra clingey to their mums lately too. sure my LO will get around to it too, though he does like to be different to other babies!

tibsy · 07/08/2007 09:47

morning girlies

meg - fingers x'd for a speedy move!!! for your night too

tam for a good night but for the pmt. i'm a mardy arse too just before period, sometimes it catches me unaware too and i wonder why i have zero tolerance you're only human my lovely. give ds an extra cuddle and i'm sure you'll both feel better

amber, i must be unlucky, am still feeding at night, but dreaded periods returned several months ago!!!! for your cuddly night

dd woke at 12.30, then 2.30am for a bit of boob. should have held out the 2nd time and just given a cuddle i think as she just faffed about for a bit.
co sleeping wasnt doing me any favours last night either tam dd sprawled out like a bloody starfish whilst i'm clinging to the edge of the bed for dear life. had hardly any sleep as a result. either dd getting bigger or the bed's shrinking

tibsy · 07/08/2007 09:50

ooh, good news on the fil front tho, he's home from hospital having had his stent fitted and is recovering nicely. is seriously frustrated tho at not being able to do anything other than 'potter'. he is not a potterer in any shape or form of the word

Amberjee · 07/08/2007 09:51

am glad for your fil tibs. give me pottering any day!
