8/9 month sleep regression?

Does anyone have any experience of a regression around this age? My LO has always been great at taking naps but over the last week his afternoon nap - which is usually his longest - has been awful. He takes ages to settle and then only sleeps for 30 mins. He used to sleep for 1.5-2 hours...I’ve tried extending his wake time but then he is so overtired that he is screaming. I usually put him down within 3-3.5 hours from waking from his morning nap. Any advice? It’s getting me down because he’s then so miserable when he wakes as he’s still so tired. I’ve done nothing differently in his sleep environment etc. Please help! Perhaps cutting his morning nap shorter would help? I usually wake him after an hour from his morning nap so that he takes a good afternoon nap but that isn’t working lately

Is he going through a developmental leap? Mine was the same around 8 and a half months, didn’t last long and we were soon back to the longer afternoon nap

Thanks for the reply! He went through a leap recently - which was awful! But then we had a couple of good days and now we’ve been hit by rubbish naps....
