My ds has never slept through the night, however he was happy to settle himself to sleep and more often than not could settle himself back to sleep when he woke in the night.

We have just returned from holiday (where he was in a cot in our room), to a new house.

He now refuses to sleep in his cot unless he is put in there asleep. He just gets himself onto all fours and wails. He also won't be put into his cot during the day for naps, unless he is sound asleep.

We've got to the point where he is sleeping with us from around 1.30am, when he is waking. He's not hungry, just wants to be awake, and doesn't want to sleep in his cot.

Any ideas? I really don't want to do CC but I think I am going to have to.

I would try and make his cot a fun place to be, so he's happy in there.

Why not treat it like a playpen for a few days, put lots of toys in etc, so he thinks of it as a nice place to be. I'm sure if he could settle himself to sleep before, he will do it again. He's had a lot of unheaval, what with going on holiday and then moving so probably needs to feel more familiar with his new surroundings.

You could also try sitting in his room while he goes to sleep - not doing anything, just being there, to make him feel a bit more secure.

I'm sure it's just a temporary blip.
