Hello,
New here, . I'm having real trouble with our LO. She is desperate for me to stay in the room at nap & bedtimes, ahving done this for a couple of weeks as she was poorly. She can cry for up to an hour im the evenings & going in just seems to start the process all over again as soon as I leave the room. If I stay, she starts to whisper to me for up to an hour & I just don't have tohe time to sit with her.
How would you deal with this?? I have recently cut back hard on her daytime naps as I thought the settling was a problem of just not being tired, now I think she is overtired as she is waking in the night too, & didn't before unless overtired.
Any help gratefully recieved.

Has she ever been able to settle herself or is this a new problem??

You could try the gradual retreat method - it takes a few weeks but is fairly untraumatic for all involved. You sit on a chair near her, and every day or two move it a bit closer to the door, till eventually you're outside the room. You cna soothe her with your vioce, but don't go to her.

Might be worth a try.
