What’s your newborns sleep pattern??

Hi all!

I’m a FTM and over thinking everything (as normal). I just wondered what kind of night time pattern everyone has for they’re babies?

My DD is 6 weeks old, she isn’t a bad sleeper- she naps well during the day. Then stays awake more in the evening from 6.30-8. Naps then has her night time routine of change of clothes, nappy change & feed then into bed. This happens around 9pm-ish. She then is asleep by 10/10.30 waking at 4am for a feed then back to sleep until 7/8.

Is that ok? Or is bed time too late?? I’m so unsure!

Sounds bloody amazing. My son was waking every 2 hours day and night at that age!

Hi there,

Sounds like a pretty good routine. Warning: a LOT changes at about 12 - 16 weeks and sleep usually goes up the spout for a while. Then lots of people seem to find an earlier bedtime happens after that is sorted. Forewarned is forearmed!

Sounds fine and similar to what mine did. If you work on bringing the bedtime forward I expect the 4am will become 3am etc.

I would stick with what you are doing until the 4am drops completely then slowly bring bedtime routine and last nap back until you are closer to a 7pm - 7am sleep pattern. Our baby fell into the following by 13 weeks

Last nap 4-4:30
Bath 6
Bottle 6:50
Bed at 7
Wake and feed 10:30
Wake and feed 7am

Late bottled weaned off by 18 weeks.
