To swaddle or not?

Sorry if there are posts on this already.

Our dd was born at 37+5 on Tuesday and we just brought her home.

Last night in the hospital we asked a midwife to swaddle her as she just wouldn't settle away from me otherwise. We hadn't planned to swaddle so did no research but now we're rethinking as otherwise we will be screwed. I'd rather swaddle her than accidentally fall asleep with her on me.

Any tips on how to be as safe as possible? She was on her side last night but I don't think we'd want to do anything but her back ourselves. Or any other ideas how we can get her to sleep without being on my chest very welcome!

Have you seen the Love to Dream Swaddle Sack? I swore by it for settling DD and no complicated burrito rolling required as it zips up. In the U.K. I’ve seen them for sale at JoJo Maman Bebe and they’re also on amazon.
