I'm beginning to go a bit mad here.

Child has always been a crap sleeper, right from the 4 month sleep regression. We've had solid routines since 3 months old, tweaking them here and there.

Last night she was asleep at 8, awake at 11, awake again at 12 with a night terror then tantrum which went on until 1. Awake crying at 2.30, 3.30, 4.15. Awake for the day at 6.30am, currently still not asleep despite being exhausted and almosf falling asleep on the way home from pre-school.

We're also exhausted.

Can the Dr do anything?

@pfrench what are you doing when she wakes up?

Unless she has something like ASD or other SN, then I doubt the doctor would be able to give anything to help!

I know how you feel my DD sleeps really well for a few weeks then its like a car crash for weeks on end, don't know how I will cope when the baby is born 🙄 xx

Do you ever use white noise? That has always been a winner for me.

My 6 y/o stays with me twice a week and we have rain sounds playing from around 8pm - 1am. Not loud, obviously, but enough to block other background noise. He doesn't have that at his Mum's, and he's up and down like a Jack in the Box at her house. With me, if he's woken up once in the last 12 months I'd be amazed.

Hi OP. This is us 🙄

Bedtime routine has been in place since 3 months now she is nearly 5yo (start school in September). Aim for sleeping at 7pm. Since we've had light evenings she can't fall to sleep but insists on keeping her lamp on.

She'll finally fall asleep after much protestations at 8:30 or 9 o'clock. Then there is waking again in the night with nightmares. Then tantrums.

She's tired. I'm tired. If you have any sparkles of joy on how to solve please share. 😴
