6 month old, crying and naps

My DD is nearly six months and seems to need a lot of sleep compared to my friends babies of the same age. She sleeps pretty well at night and has three day time naps, usually lasting between 1 and 2 and a half hours. She can be happily awake for two hours max. She naps best in the house in her pram and I struggle to get out for classes or mum meets. If she gets tired when I’m out and can’t drop off she cries VERY loudly until she does which makes me stressed! She can’t be rocked or cuddled to sleep and likes her dummy but it doesn’t quieten her any.

Has anyone experienced this? I’ve accepted I need to do what makes DD happy but I have friends telling me she needs to work around me not vice versa, and often I’m the only one who can’t make a class or lunch.

I'm casting my mind back, OP. I don't think this sounds that outlandish at six months but I think I'd expect her to start doing longer stretches awake quite soon. You could always have a chat to your health visitor.

Personally, I've never seen anyone have much success with trying to bend a baby's will to their own but maybe you could try stretching her a bit longer with a snack or play time.

Anyone else experienced this?
