Stop Nap Time

When should a toddler stop napping?

My son is a month short of being 2 1/2 and I'm getting trouble getting him to sleep at night. He goes to nursery two and a half days and doesn't nap there. He used to be really cranky when he came home on the two days he was there all day and I had to be careful he didn't sleep in the car on the way home but lately he seems more awake on these days. The other days he's with my other half one day and my mil the other two. I'm obviously with him at the weekend. He's been sleeping in the car mostly at weekends as we're out and about. The same when he's with his dad. He naps for an hour on two days when he is with my mil.

Lately it's been taking longer to get him to sleep on the days when he naps. I'm wondering if it's time to stop naps. I don't see it being a problem except for when we're our and about in the car. I'm really torn with what to do!

My 2.4 y o has dropped her nap really. She naps at nursery (2days) and occasionally in car but on those days takes well over an hour to sleep at bedtime. It’s a shock as my older dd still napped most days until she was slightly past 4! I think DD2 has fomo
